Bite correction in children

Bite correction in childhood is about more than just straight teeth. A correct bite helps the jaws develop harmoniously, makes dental care easier and protects the joints from overload. The earlier treatment begins, the gentler it is for the child and the more stable the result.

In fact, childhood is the best time: treatment is
gentle, comfortable and gives the most stable results. The earlier we
begin, the easier and more reliable the path to a beautiful, healthy smile.”
What it is

Bite correction in children is orthodontic treatment aimed at straightening the teeth and forming the correct relationship between the jaws. We use gentle modern systems — braces or clear aligners — selected with the child’s age and growth characteristics in mind.

Stages of the procedure
initial consultation and diagnostics: examination, photographs, bite models and an X-ray if needed
preparatory stage: professional cleaning, caries treatment, elimination of inflammation
placement of the orthodontic system: braces (external or internal) or clear Invisalign aligners
Regular adjustments every 4–8 weeks
removal of the system and retention:
securing the result with a retainer

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Does putting braces on a child hurt?
No, the placement is painless. Sometimes mild anaesthesia is used when preparing the teeth.
How can I help my child get used to aligners?
In the first few days there may be a feeling of pressure, but it passes quickly. Usually within a week children forget they are wearing the system.
Do we need to change the diet?
With braces it is best to avoid hard and sticky foods. Aligners are taken off before eating, so there are almost no restrictions.
