Cosmetic periodontology (pink esthetics)

A harmonious smile is not only straight teeth but also a healthy, even gum line. Cosmetic periodontology (“pink aesthetics”) helps restore the volume and contour of the soft tissues for a natural, cohesive smile.
When 'pink esthetics' is needed
Belaya Raduga
With gum recession: the root is exposed, sensitivity to cold/hot has appeared, the tooth has “lengthened”

With a thin gum biotype or “black triangles” between the teeth

Before/after implantation — to form the correct volume of soft tissue around the implant

After injuries, improper hygiene, piercing, or orthodontic treatment (as indicated)
Belaya Raduga
To prepare for cosmetic prosthetics (veneers/crowns) so that the gum edge is even

“The beauty of a smile begins with the gums: if you restore the volume and contour of the soft tissues, the teeth immediately look more harmonious — and the sensitivity goes away along with the visual discomfort.”

What it is

Pink esthetics is a set of microsurgical and periodontal procedures that restore the tissues around teeth and implants: they cover recessions (gum loss and root exposure), level the margin line, restore the interdental papillae and shape a beautiful gum 'frame' around each tooth or implant.

This is not 'masking' but replenishing tissue where it is lacking, with a focus on function (protection from sensitivity and inflammation) and esthetics.

“Sometimes a lack of gum tissue isn't only about aesthetics. Exposed roots become vulnerable to cavities and sensitivity, and over time the bone tissue can suffer too. In such cases medical intervention isn't a whim but a necessity to preserve the health of the teeth.”

Patient history

The patient came in complaining of bleeding gums and bad breath.

Treatment

We performed diagnostics and prescribed periodontal treatment. First we did professional oral hygiene, then treated the supra- and subgingival periodontal pockets using the FMD protocol by segments. The patient was trained in proper home care and is under regular periodontal monitoring.

Пациент обратился с жалобами на оголение корней зубов в области боковой группы верхней челюсти. Во время осмотра было установлено, что причиной развития рецессий стала травматичная и слишком интенсивная чистка зубов.

Treatment

Treatment

Stages of the procedure:
Diagnostics and plan:
photo analysis, periodontal indices, 3D scan, agreeing on the area and scope of correction.
Preparation:
professional hygiene, gentle brushing training and, if needed, treatment of inflammation.
Soft tissue microsurgery:
gum grafting (autograft/membrane), recession coverage, papilla formation, gum line correction.
Finishing and follow-up:
gentle sutures, care recommendations, dressings and healing monitoring with result assessment.
Safety and care
So that gum restoration is not only effective but also as gentle as possible for the patient:
1
we work with gentle microsurgical techniques under magnification to protect the tissues and the blood supply of the flap;
2
we use evidence-based protocols and biocompatible materials (autografts/collagen matrices as indicated);
3
we prepare thoroughly: first hygiene and control of inflammation, then the surgery;
4
we give clear guides and support you through the healing stages (dressings, check-ups, adjusting recommendations).

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Where is the “tissue” for the graft taken from?
Most often we use your own flap from the palate; for large areas we combine it with collagen matrices.
How long does the result last?
On average from six months to two years — it depends on your habits, care, and regular professional hygiene.
Can “black triangles” be closed?
In many cases — yes: we work with gum volume and the shape of the contacts; the final decision is made after diagnosis.
