What's the difference between a regular X-ray and a CT scan?
A regular X-ray shows the teeth and bone in only two projections, so some information is lost. CT creates a volumetric 3D image where every detail is visible from any angle. This makes it possible to detect even hidden foci of inflammation and plan treatment more precisely.
Can children have a CT scan?
Yes, modern scanners allow the scan to be performed even on children and breastfeeding mothers. The examination is prescribed on the doctor's indications and is completely safe.
