Bone and soft tissue augmentation
Over time, after a tooth is removed, the bone in that area becomes thinner — without load it gradually “subsides”. To place an implant, its former volume and density must be restored. At the Belaya Raduga clinic we perform bone grafting: safely, with minimal discomfort and a predictable result.
When bone and soft tissue augmentation is needed
The tooth was removed long ago and the bone has thinned
The X-ray shows there isn't enough volume for an implant
The doctor recommends strengthening the area before implantation
The soft tissues are thinned and need to be restored for the aesthetics of the smile

Bulat Rishatovich Zulkarnaev, oral surgeon, implantologist
“When a tooth is missing for a long time, the bone and gum in that area lose their shape. We can restore them so the implant looks natural and the smile harmonious. It's a reliable, calm procedure that we perform under comfortable anaesthesia.”
What bone and soft tissue grafting is
Sometimes after a tooth is removed, the bone and gum in that area gradually shrink. To place an implant and restore a beautiful smile contour, this 'support' must be rebuilt — making the bone strong and the gum dense and natural enough.
During the procedure the doctor carefully adds material to the needed area, which helps the tissues regenerate. After a few months the bone and gum fully integrate, and the area becomes as reliable as your own.

«We always honestly warn: the first days after grafting can be tough. But when after a few months the patient sees the result — a healthy, strong foundation for the implant — they understand it was worth it».
Stages of the procedure
Diagnostics and planning.
We take a 3D scan (CT) to accurately assess where tissue is lacking and choose the best way to restore it.
Preparing the site.
The doctor gently opens access to the needed area — under anesthesia, so the patient feels no pain.
Bone tissue restoration.
If there is not enough bone, the doctor adds biomaterial or a particle of the patient's own bone. This creates a reliable foundation for the future implant.
Soft tissue grafting.
So the gum looks natural and reliably protects the implant, the doctor reinforces it with a thin graft — literally adding volume, as if returning the tissue to its former shape.
Healing and follow-up.
After a few months the restored tissues become part of your own anatomy. We monitor the process so everything goes calmly and predictably.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Why is it necessary to build up bone before placing an implant?
If a tooth was removed long ago, the bone in that area becomes thinner and lower. For the implant to hold reliably and last for many years, the doctor needs to restore its volume.
How long does healing take?
The bone and soft tissues fully recover within 3–6 months. Throughout this time the doctor monitors the process and adjusts the care if needed.
Can bone grafting be avoided?
Sometimes yes. If the bone volume is sufficient, the implant can be placed right away. But in most cases grafting is necessary for the result to be reliable and long-lasting.
