What zirconia crowns are

Zirconia crowns are modern, durable structures placed on a tooth or implant to restore its natural look and protect it from damage. They're made of zirconium dioxide — a material close in colour and translucency to living enamel. Such crowns don't darken, don't cause allergies, and are well tolerated by the gums.

When placed on implants, zirconia crowns precisely reproduce the tooth's shape thanks to digital modelling. They're light, resistant to loads, and with proper care last 10–15 years and longer.

Stages of the procedure
Diagnosis and planning
The doctor assesses the condition of the teeth and gums, selects the material and shade of the future crown, and explains all the stages of treatment.
Preparation
If the crown is placed on a tooth, it's carefully prepared and, if needed, a temporary crown is fitted. If on an implant, its readiness is checked and the base is adjusted for the future structure.
Taking a digital impression
A 3D scanner captures the shape of the teeth and the bite so the crown fits perfectly and looks natural.
Fabrication
The crown is milled from a solid block of zirconium dioxide, covered with a thin layer of ceramic, and precisely matches the colour of the neighbouring teeth.
Fitting and placement
After checking the fit and comfort, the crown is securely fixed. The smile looks natural right away, and the tooth is fully ready for load.

Пациентка обратилась с желанием комплексно изменить улыбку. Помимо эстетики было важно восстановить правильную функцию зубочелюстной системы, скорректировать положение зубов и добиться максимально естественного результата. Лечение проводилось поэтапно и заняло около двух лет.

Treatment

Комплексная реабилитация включала несколько этапов. Сначала была проведена терапевтическая подготовка полости рта, после чего выполнено ортодонтическое лечение на элайнерах для создания правильного положения зубов. Далее были установлены имплантаты в области клыков и проведена мягкотканная пластика, что позволило сформировать естественный контур десны и добиться гармоничного внешнего вида будущих реставраций. Финальным этапом стало восстановление улыбки с помощью керамических реставраций: установлено 10 керамических виниров, 13 керамических коронок на собственных зубах и 5 коронок на имплантатах. В результате удалось полностью восстановить функцию зубочелюстной системы, сделать улыбку более широкой, естественной и гармоничной с чертами лица пациентки.
